It's an online google sheet that contains tabs and tables to help you track, plan and analyze your spending.
I have been tracking all my expenses using a google sheet since three years now and based on the different things that I felt were necessary for an online tracker, I have created a generalized sheet that can help anyone to start noting down their spending.
I would like to admit that this method definitely needs some work from your end, as it involves writing down expenses as and when they occur. I manage this by clicking on “My Drive” immediately after any transaction and then I add a one-word description of that expense along with the amount I have spent. And during times when I’m not able to access my google drive, I try to take note of the expense and the amount in my note-taking app and then transfer those to my tracker during the weekend. In short, it might take some time to get accustomed to this tracker, but eventually, it will turn into a habit.
As 2022 is coming to an end, it’s the perfect time to start preparing for your next year’s financial journey and this could be a great opportunity for you to start 2023 on a good note. Tracking your expenses in this sheet will help you analyze your spending and make you more disciplined. Also at the end of 2023, you will be able to introspect and learn about your money habits through all the data collected throughout the year.
This free google sheet tracker contains a “How to use” tab, which you can refer to when starting out. It does not require you to be an expert in using google sheets but yes having some information would definitely help you to explore this tracker well. But again it's pretty easy to use for anyone, follow the “How to use” tab and you’ll be good to go. Then Click on My File (top left corner) and select Make a copy. This will create a copy in your personal google drive and then you can start using it.
